Aspect Music Academy — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 June 2026

These Terms govern your purchase and use of products and services provided by Matt Tinkler, sole trader, trading as Aspect Music Academy (ABN 56 332 339 005) (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing or using our products and services, you (“you”, “the Student”) agree to these Terms.

These Terms are in two parts:

Part A — Academy

These terms apply to the Aspect Music Academy monthly membership (“Academy”).

A1. What Academy is

A1.1 Academy is a monthly subscription membership giving you access, for as long as your membership is active, to:

  • the self-paced course library;
  • monthly live masterclasses (recorded and added to the library);
  • downloads and resources (templates, racks, presets, sample packs, workbooks);
  • software and industry partner discounts; and
  • the member community.

Exactly what is included may change from time to time as we add, update, or retire content. We will not materially reduce the core value of the membership without notice.

A1.2 Academy is an educational membership. We do not guarantee any specific musical, commercial, or career outcome.

A2. Fees and billing

A2.1 Academy is $29 USD per month (or the current price shown at checkout), billed in advance on a recurring monthly cycle from your sign-up date.

A2.2 You authorise us (and our payment processor, e.g. Stripe) to charge your payment method automatically each month until you cancel.

A2.3 We may change the membership price. We will give you reasonable notice of any price change before it applies to you, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

A2.4 If a payment fails, we may suspend your access until payment succeeds. We may retry the charge in line with our payment processor’s standard process.

A3. Cancellation and refunds

A3.1 Cancel anytime. There is no lock-in. You may cancel your membership at any time; cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of your current paid month. You keep access until then.

A3.2 No refunds on months already paid. Membership fees already charged (including the current month) are non-refundable. Cancelling does not refund the current or any past month.

A3.3 This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see Part C). The above applies to change-of-mind cancellations.

A4. Downloads and previously purchased courses

A4.1 Downloadable resources you obtain while a member (templates, racks, presets, sample packs, workbooks) are yours to keep for personal use, even if you later cancel, subject to the licence terms in Part C.

A4.2 If you previously purchased an individual course from Matt Tinkler Music, you keep lifetime access to that course independently of your Academy membership.

A4.3 Streaming access to the broader course library, masterclasses, community, and discounts ends when your membership ends.

Part B — Accelerator

These terms apply to the Aspect Music Academy Accelerator (“the Program”), a six-month one-to-one mentorship.

B1. The Program

B1.1 The Program is six (6) months of one-to-one mentorship from the date your first session is scheduled or your onboarding is completed, whichever is earlier (“Start Date”).

B1.2 The Program includes, as described at the point of sale:

  • regular one-to-one mentorship sessions with Matt Tinkler;
  • personalised feedback on your music, process, and progress;
  • direct access and support throughout the six-month term;
  • twelve (12) months of Academy membership access; and
  • twelve (12) months of Aspect Music Academy Studio (“Studio”) access.

B1.3 The Program is delivered online. Session frequency, format, and scheduling are arranged between you and us in good faith, subject to mutual availability.

B1.4 The Program is an educational and mentorship service. We do not guarantee any specific musical, commercial, or career outcome. Results depend on your own effort, application, and circumstances.

B2. Enrolment and places

B2.1 Accelerator places are limited and application-based. Enrolment is confirmed only when we accept your application and receive your first payment (or full payment).

B2.2 Your place is personal to you and may not be transferred, shared, or resold.

B3. Fees and payment

B3.1 The Program fee is one of the following, as selected at checkout:

  • (a) Upfront: $3,699 USD, paid in full before the Start Date; or
  • (b) Payment plan: six (6) monthly instalments of $649 USD each, the first due before the Start Date and each subsequent instalment due on the same day of each following month.

B3.2 All prices are in the currency shown at checkout. You are responsible for any taxes, currency conversion costs, or bank fees that apply to you.

B3.3 Payment plan obligations. If you choose the payment plan, you are committing to the full six-instalment fee for the six-month Program. The plan is a payment schedule for the whole Program, not a month-to-month subscription, and instalments remain payable even if you stop attending sessions.

B3.4 Failed or late payments (payment plan). If a scheduled instalment fails or is not paid within seven (7) days of its due date:

  • (a) we may pause your access to sessions, Academy, and Studio until payment is brought up to date;
  • (b) we may recover the outstanding amount, including reasonable recovery costs; and
  • (c) any access paused for non-payment does not extend the six-month term.

B3.5 You authorise us (and our payment processor, e.g. Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide for each instalment when due.

B4. Refunds and cancellations

B4.1 Cooling-off period (before work begins). You may cancel and receive a full refund within seven (7) days of purchase, provided the Program has not yet started — that is, before your Start Date and before any session or onboarding has taken place. To cancel, email support@aspectmusicacademy.com.

B4.2 No refunds once the Program has started. Because the Program is a limited-place, one-to-one service reserved exclusively for you, all fees are non-refundable once the Program has started (i.e. once your first session or onboarding has occurred, or your Start Date has passed). This applies whether you paid upfront or by payment plan, and whether or not you complete the Program or attend all sessions.

B4.3 Payment plan. Cancelling after the Program has started does not release you from the remaining instalments under clause B3.3.

B4.4 This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see Part C). The above no-refund terms apply to change-of-mind and to circumstances outside those statutory guarantees.

B5. Your responsibilities

B5.1 To get value from a one-to-one program, you need to participate. You’re responsible for attending scheduled sessions, doing agreed work between sessions, and communicating in good time if you need to reschedule.

B5.2 Rescheduling. Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled or missed with less notice may be forfeited at our discretion.

B5.3 You’re responsible for your own equipment, software licences (including Ableton Live), and internet connection needed to take part.

B6. Included Academy and Studio access

B6.1 The included twelve (12) months of Academy and Studio access run from your Start Date. Academy access is otherwise governed by Part A.

B6.2 Academy and Studio access is a bonus inclusion of the Program. It is not separately refundable and has no standalone cash value.

Part C — General terms

These terms apply to both Academy and the Accelerator.

C1. Intellectual property

C1.1 All materials we provide — course content, templates, racks, presets, frameworks, recordings, and resources — remain our intellectual property (or our licensors’). They are licensed to you for your personal use. You may not copy, resell, share, or distribute them.

C1.2 Your music is yours. You retain full ownership of the music and creative work you make. We claim no rights over your tracks.

C1.3 We may reference, in general terms, that you were a student or member (e.g. for testimonials) only with your separate consent.

C2. Conduct

C2.1 We both agree to act respectfully and professionally. We may suspend or end your access or enrolment, without refund, if your conduct is abusive, unlawful, or seriously disrupts our services or community. Statutory rights under clause C4 are unaffected.

C3. Liability

C3.1 To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any product or service is limited to the amount you have paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

C4. Your statutory rights (Australian Consumer Law)

C4.1 Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law — including that services be provided with due care and skill. Our refund terms above apply to change-of-mind and to circumstances outside those statutory guarantees.

C5. General

C5.1 We may make reasonable changes to delivery, scheduling, or content. We will not reduce the core substance of what you paid for.

C5.2 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase; for ongoing memberships, continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

C5.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.

C5.4 If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force.

C5.5 These Terms, together with what was described at your point of sale, are the entire agreement between us.
